Work Exchange SEVA Positions and Descriptions

There is an Orientation Meeting on Thursday, May 14th @ 5pm. Your first shift may begin prior to that, or the first day of the event (Friday). Work requirements and total hours are listed below for each department and are subject to change. 

General Info Booth:

Attended the events a few times? Good with people? This may be a good fit.

Arrival: Orientation Meeting, Thursday, May 14th @ 5pm

  • WE: up to 18 hrs (Fri-Sun)

General Help:

For this team we are looking for that all around ready to jump in and help individual. Can you act as a personal assistant for a few hours? Can you simply run food to a staff member? Can you take on the spot instruction to fill in on a team that is short handed? If you like variety, you’ll love this. Physical strength is a plus. AND being a self starter is a MUST.

Greeter:

This team will greet attendees, checking for wristbands at different check points. Must be able to speak with confidence to strangers.

REGISTRATION DEPARTMENTS

Artist Registration:

Checking in all artists as they come on-site. Being able to recognize most of the artists by sight will make this position a lot easier. Some advance familiarization (web research) with our artists is greatly appreciated.

Arrival: Starts early morning on Thursday, May 14th

General Registration:

Checking in those who need to purchase or have event tickets. Prior Bhakti or Shakti Fest experience a plus.

Arrival: Starts early morning on Thursday, May 14 or Orientation Meeting @ 5PM

Set-up & Breakdown Team:

For this event, Set-up and Breakdown is listed as one team. Please be prepared to arrive early and stay through Monday, following the event.
Those in excellent physical condition who like HARD work may apply. You will be working a lot in full sun. Please mention in your application if you have any special skills that would make you a great candidate for this team. Set-up needs (but is not limited to) those with electrical, construction and large tent set-up experience. No specific hours, but this team will be free to enjoy the festival.

Arrival: Tuesday, May 12th to be ready to start working Wednesday, May 13th
Departure: Please be available to work on Monday, May 18th for Breakdown

  • WE: up to 18 hrs (Wed, Thur & Mon)

Stage Help:

Helping artists on and off stage. This job is super busy for a chunk of time, you listen to some kirtan, then you work really hard again.

Yoga/Workshop Halls:

Checking wristbands, making sure all yoga mats are “parked” so as to optimize space, etc… Must be comfortable speaking respectfully yet firmly to strangers. Must be patient under pressure and presentable. Please be aware that some of your shifts may occur during a mealtime. Please be prepared to bring along something to snack on or plan to eat before your shift.

Vendor Registration & Set-up

This team will need an array of skills ranging from people who can do office work (google sheets, spreadsheet formatting, etc.), registration, and also a few strong hands to bang in rebar and help with building tents. Please specify what interests you and your experience.
