Thursday, September 26 from 1:30pm-6:30pm
Join Shiva Rea, Vijay Krsna, and friends in the powerful vortex of Joshua Tree National Monument.
Immerse yourself in the rejuvenating power of meditation, embodying prana vinyasa and desert vision journeys. Our retreat in the ancient power of Joshua Tree is a pre-festival way to connect with our living earth, listen deep and rejuvenate.
pre-immersion: shiva rea
We will begin the day in a collective Prana Flow practice before going on a journey into Joshua Tree Park to experience a slow walk through the natural sandstone temples that were once under the sea. We will enjoy an opening circle and silent walking through the sacred landscape alive with desert blooms, jackalopes, Joshua trees, and epic sandstone rocks. Along the way, we will enjoy movement meditation, mantra, meditation, kirtan and reflection. We will enjoy a deep quiet meditation and vision process at our sacred destination listening to our connection to Adi Shakti - primordial energy in the ancient landscape in Joshua Tree.
*This trip involves a trip into the JTNP. $30/car entry into the park not included, can be purchased separately upon arrival to the park.
Pre-Immersions can be purchased when you purchase your Bhakti Fest tickets. On the ticketing page, scroll down to "other items" to learn more.

To practice bhakti is to practice loving what is, embracing it and transmuting it - grief, ugliness, passion, grasping, desire, fear - into a force for flow, presence, and change.
Together, we'll explore:
-
Storytelling as a way to ground and share the human experience
-
History and practices of Bhakti yoga
-
Permission, reverence, how to honor the teachers and teachings
-
Mantra, meaning, and application into daily life
-
The powerful instrument of voice and sound
-
The healing properties of sound
-
How to share these practices in the community and with students

BOLO • Embodied bhakti
Thursday, September 26 from 3pm-5pm
Janet Stone & DJ Drez will guide you through the heart and power of bhakti yoga—the yoga of the heart—or an exploration of devotional storytelling, mantra, and dance, all against a backdrop of creative beats that match and awaken our unique heartbeat. We’ll express the fullest sense of embodiment and from there how to let this sense of devotion move through us, so we can share it with others.
