At Shakti Fest (and Bhakti Fest) there are two categories of service: WE and Maha Seva. WE receive festival entrance and camping. Maha Seva receive festival entrance, camping and meals throughout the festival. There is an orientation meeting on Thursday, May 11 @ 5pm. Your first shift may begin prior to that, or the first day of the festival (Friday). Work requirements and total hours are listed below each department.

Yoga Info Booth:
This is an early bird job. Yoga sign-ups begin in the AM and this booth is responsible for helping people sign-up and answering their questions during the day.
This is the Shakti Fest official merchandise booth. You will be helping to stock, tidy, and sell. Retail experience a plus.
… for the Coffee Shop, Coconut Shack, (Veggie) Hot Dog Stand. Must have leadership and retail experience.
The Bhakti Fest Kitchen serves the artists and staff for their meals throughout the festival. There are 3 areas of service. Food prep and serving are MAHA SEVA only. Ticket-takers are Work Exchange only.
Expert choppers and chefs wanted. Must have prior kitchen experience.
Serving up food to hungry Bhaktas.
This is a job for someone with a very graceful confidence who can talk respectfully and calmly to strangers because you will sometimes be saying “no, you don’t have the right credentials.” You will be checking artist and staff badges and meal tickets to make sure people are in the right place. Much care must be taken in either redirecting or allowing passage to the meal line.
Help festival-goers with common ailments one gets in the hot desert. Medical experience required.
This team is on stand-by at HQ waiting for an assignment. You could be filling in for someone who didn’t show up for their shift in another department, running an errand, or restocking the HQ cooler with drinks. If you like variety, you’ll love this. Physical strength is a plus.
If you have a passion for keeping the festival neat and tidy looking, this is the job for you. As this is hard work in the sun, hours are reduced for this department.
You will be the person at Shakti Fest central with the walkie-talkie, relaying info to various people and putting out figurative “fires”. Excellent communication skills and alertness required.
Must have current certification. Want to hang out by the pool and keep attendees safe? This is the job for you!
This team will greet newcomers and direct them to appropriate parking spaces.
The team makes sure that all festival goers have their wristbands. Must be able to speak with confidence to strangers.
Checking in all artists as they come on-site. If you can come early, this position can start as early as Monday. Being able to recognize most of the artists by sight will make this position a lot easier. Some advance familiarization (web research) with our artists is greatly appreciated.
Checking in those who need to purchase or have festival tickets. Prior Bhakti fest experience a plus, as attendee or WE. We have some shifts available on Thursday, which would mean having one free day at the festival.
Answering questions about, and checking in those who have signed up for healing treatments. Prior BF experience and/or healing modality knowledge is a plus.
Checking in those who have on site housing and showing them to their rooms. Prior Bhakti fest experience a plus, as attendee or WE.We have some shifts available on Thursday, which would mean having one free day at the festival.
Checking in those signed up for WE and also will be assisting the WE Coordinator during the festival. Office skills needed for pre-festival work, Google Sheets.
Applicants choose either set-up or break-down. Please mention your preference in the application. Set-up begins on MONDAY, May 8th and ends on THURSDAY May 11th when work is done. Break-down begins on MONDAY May 15h and ends on WEDNESDAY, May 17 when work is done. Those in excellent physical condition who like HARD work (heavy lifting, digging, trenching, and building, etc…) may apply. You will be working a lot in full sun. Please mention in your application if you have any special skills that would make you a great candidate for set-up and/or break-down. No specific hours, but this team will be free to enjoy the festival.
This team is constantly tidying up the space, catering to the musicians backstage, and generally playing HOST/HOSTESS. Some heavy lifting ability is a plus.
This position is for someone who LOVES public speaking. You will introducing the acts on the Hanuman Stage. Please send a link to a video of you speaking if you have one!
Helping artists on and off stage. This job is super busy for a chunk of time, you listen to some kirtan, then you work really hard again.

Sound for Yoga Halls:
At the festival, music is not just for the stages. A lot of amazing live music is happening for yoga classes. We are always in need of people with experience running audio, whether setting up mics and mic stands, mixing, cabling, etc… (Tell your friends!) A perk: in many cases you can still take the yoga class so long as you are aware of any sound needs as you downdog.
Assisting the workshop hall coordinator with anything and everything needed to run this area smoothly and accommodate presenters.
Yoga classes are extremely popular and prior sign-up is encouraged. Those working in yoga halls will be checking registrants off of a master list, making sure all yogi mats are “parked” so as to optimize space, etc… Must be comfortable speaking respectfully yet firmly to strangers. Must be patient under pressure and presentable.
VENDOR REGISTRATION & SETUP
This team will need an array of skills ranging from people who can do office work (google sheets, spreadsheet formatting, etc.), registration, and also a few strong hands to bang in rebar and help with building tents. Please specify what interests you.
