Devotional practitioner, author, and musician Shyamdas specialized in Indian classical Haveli Sangeet music and the mystic poets of North India. His programs combined ecstatic kirtan singing with stories and teachings from the path of devotion. He spoke from his background as a Vedic scholar and Sanskrit translator to share the philosophy of non-dual reality. Shyamdas gave performances and workshops internationally and at venues including Bhakti Fest, Omega Institute’s Ecstatic Chant, Ananda Ashram, Yogaville, Jivamukti Yoga, etc. and has collaborated with Krishna Das, Deva Premal and Miten, Durga Das and Mira, and many others. Center for Spiritual Studies is compiling a Tribute to Shyamdas and invite you to participate, honor, and remember our dear friend.

Shyamdas Memorial Scholarship 

Bhakti Fest is honored to share Shyamdas Memorial Scholarship. Proceeds from the scholarship will go towards supporting a student in studying Indian classical music, in honor of Shyam as he was a pioneer and supporter of this particular art form. Monies from "Hari's Lila: Shyamdas Live at Bhakti Fest Midwest 2012" will benefit directly to the scholarship and the award will be presented at Bhakti Fest West 2013.
