Ani Cole Ani Missakian Cole received her shiatsu certification in ’92 from Shiatsu Massage School of California. Shiatsu (“finger pressure”) is a natural healing art utilizing the same meridian system as acupuncture to help release tension and energy blocks while promoting better blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. She also incorporates other modalities, including Swedish, deep tissue, lomi-lomi, and energy balancing. After becoming certified to teach yoga in ’08 (at Yoga Adventure’s amazing oceanfront retreat in Hawaii), she began to include yoga therapeutics in her work so as to empower those she works with to heal/balance themselves through individually-tailored yoga asanas. Ani currently teaches yoga at YogaCo in Santa Monica every Saturday 1:15pm. www.yogaco.com for more info or email her directly at

Birch Storey is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine practicing Harmonic Healing, using Sound, either alone, or in conjunction with acupuncture needles. The archetypal influence of the Acutonics Sound frequencies engages the cellular patterns of the acupuncture points and the chakras, quickening the life force, activating the innate intelligence and circulating essential vitality. The body and being can then mobilize the life force into one's tissues, imaginations, and actions, for the benefit of all.
William has innovated a sophisticated and unique form of bodywork called “Structural Energywork” over the last 8 years, presented within the context of “Somatic Consulting [SM].” Structural Energywork is an integrative blend of many physyical modalities such as — trigger point, myofascial release, shiatsu, acupressure, and swedish — blended in a way that responds to the specific needs of the client. This advanced, intuitive, and transformational art serves the yogi in opening physically, while supporting the deeper processes that are involved in cellular awakening. William acknowledges the emotional and energetic aspects of one's experience, working with non-invasive depth and subtlety to restore balance and wholeness of being. Somatic Consulting acknowledges that we are multi-dimensional beings – having physical, emotional, psychological/psychic, and energetic “bodies.” Through inquiry and observation, William observes that the most profound and lasting results arise when one acknowledges that all of these bodies, are one system. A core principle of this work is that our lives or “outer world” are an expression and reflection of these inner energetics, alchemies, the intent being to draw a coherent thread through these realms of experience leading to deep resolution or notable life change – specific to the intent of the client. Maura’s background as a biologist, yoga teacher, acrobat and bodyworker fit together like pieces of an intricate puzzle, when she works with her clients. Her style is a blend of Thai, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Cranial Sacral and Rolfing, and when she is working it is as though she is vicariously entering the inner world of her clients, taking them on a journey through the vehicle of the body into a realm of the spirit world. “Maura Rassman is an artist whose canvas is the body lucky enough to be exposed to her healing and transformational touch. Her work defies easy categorization. The experience on one occasion might feel like your body's sweet surrender, on another, feel as if stretched taffy and as yet another time feel like being "opened" or "unblocked”. Maura has a way of deconstructing the body and putting the body, mind and spirit back together again more whole, connected and grounded. Her signature bodywork reflects profound respect for—and knowledge of—the body guided by keen intuition. It wouldn't be strange to feel otherworldly after working with Maura because the world that one has entered is so much more harmonious and peaceful. You just know something alchemical has taken place”. by Enid Singer, PhD Gianna Mia DeFlice L.Ac. Dipl. O.M. Gianna Mia DeFlice L.Ac. Dipl. He trained with Dr. Jan Head (Ingham method) at the L.A. Center for Health and was awarded National Certification in 2003 by the American Reflexology Certification Board. . Jen HealyJen Healy has focused her bodywork on bridging the gap between science and the healing arts. She combines her background in Electrical Engineering and Physics with numerous healing modalities from Eastern and Western philosophies to offer a unique style of Body Engineering and Energy Management. What you will experience from her sessions is a clear understanding of the function energy, alignment and balance plays in the body. While gaining structural stability, there is a sense of deeper relaxation and release of accumulated emotional and physical stress, chronic pain and fatigue. This healing process is informative and fun yet intense and profound. This spiritual-based, meditative approach promotes balance and harmony by working with the universal life force and the body's own healing intelligence. The focus and goal of her work is to uncover what Truths are held in the body's energy system, what message is behind the disharmony, and what is blocking the natural flow of energy. Roen Jason DeLeonRoen, originally from the Philippines and raised in San Diego, has now lived in the Bay Area for the past 11 years. Trained in Massage at SFSM, in Thai, Shiatsu and Swedish. Went on to work at ZUBIO, a chair massage studio, using a Japanese-form of acuppresure. He also became a certified Yoga instructor through Yoga Tree (Darren Main). He recently completed the first level of the Hendrickson Method and is also part of an Anusara Immersion with Stacey Rosenberg. And now a new proud father of his son, Orlando. Karin Pine Karin Pine’s unique approach to bodywork, “fasciotherapy,” is immediately effective at tracking the source of pain or injury and “melting” it -- often permanently. This new therapeutic approach, based on manipulating layers of the body’s all-encompassing web of connective tissue under the skin, can release adhesions, relieve overworked or sprained muscles/tendons/ligaments and free up sources of chronic pain. Clients also report that fasciotherapy can help to restore flexibility and comfort of motion. Karin's fasciotherapy combines a patented series of slow, passive yogic positions and gentle rocking with a deep, soothing manipulation to release the source of pain. It draws from -- but transcends -- her studies in Taoist healing, acupressure, ch'i gung, cranial-sacral therapy, myofascial therapy, ortho-bionomy, etc. At her new office, opened 2009, at the Starlite Courtyard in Joshua Tree, home of Insta nt Karma Yoga, an enthusiastic following of her devotees -- including some of Joshua Tree’s leading yoga instructors, practitioners and others in the spiritual, healing and consciousness communities -- are spreading the word about her effective healing approach. Her website is www.Besthealingmassage.com.

Ryan Seaman Ryan’s journey into the healing arts began with my first step onto a yoga mat thirteen years ago. Yoga became the foundation of a healing path that led him to massage therapy certification, advanced training, and multiple apprenticeships in transformational bodywork with Fred and Cheryl Mitouer www.bodyworkmassage.com. Ryan sees the physical body as a sacred temple through which we access the energetic holding patterns of our individual traumas and wounds. I approach bodywork and breath work as an opportunity to reconcile and integrate the imbalanced physical, mental, emotional and psychic patterns that will otherwise perpetuate an unconscious limitation to Self-realization. Ryan’s training includes over a decade of disciplined practice and countless workshops in yoga, qi gong, tai chi, aikido, butoh, reiki, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, ayurvedic massage, Thai yoga massage, structural bodywork, myofascial release, esoteric anatomy, shamanism, Fourth Way studies, Jungian psychology, astrology, tarot, Native American studies and acupressure. After completing a year of Traditional Chinese Medical School, He embarked on travels and deeper studies throughout India, Egypt and South America. “In deep gratitude to all my teachers, I offer my services on your journey to oneness in mind, body and soul. Namaste, Ryan Seaman.” This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Greg began his formal massage training over 10 years ago in Southern California and has since completed hundreds of hours of training and practice in various modalities including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, and Polarity. He currently finds the beauty, creativity, and flow of Thai massage to be most mutually beneficial to recipients of his work and himself. Greg comes to Bhaktifest fresh out of the latest AcroYoga Teacher Training, and is excited to integrate this transformational and healing bodywork into his practice with others. When we're engaged in devotional kirtan we experience a self-generated flow of Bhakti. This same flow can be tapped into and channeled from oneself to another through massage.
