Ram Dass
Exclusive DVDRam Dass first went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, an already eminent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr. Timothy Leary. He had continued his psychedelic research until that fateful Eastern trip in 1967, when he traveled to India. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionatelyknown as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means "servant of God." Everything changed then - his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words "Be Here Now" ever since. Ram Dass's spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions on the journey, helping free them from their bonds as he has worked his way through his own.

Mindfulness and Yoga Sādhana: The Brahma VihāraYoga transforms body and mind, purifying karmas and clarifying the realm of the senses. Patañjali, in Yoga Sūtra I:33, suggests that we cultivate friendliness toward those who are happy, compassion for the suffering, gladness for the good, and equanimity when facing negativity. In this workshop we will move and chant with the aim of cultivating these meditative intentions.

Paul Heussenstamm
Mandalas as Psychic MapsPaul Heussenstamm’s inherent artistic abilities and unique focus are reflections of his parent's influence as both were deeply involved in art and spirituality. Paul’s natural evolution into becoming an accomplished painter of spiritual imagery began at age 35 after growing a successful surf business. His first art class expanded into a consuming passion that resulted in a change of profession along with a resounding new perspective on life. Paul explains, “A new voice had come into being, and I merely began listening and responding to this growing call of the soul.” The major turning point in his art career came during a workshop when he spontaneously created a Mandala, an ancient sacred pattern. Over time he came to understand the Mandala as a psychic map and a symbol of wholeness that can center us through difficult times. “All of reality has a pattern, and the patterns are ours to understand if we have the courage and insight to open up and look. All we seek—peace, love, health, happiness, all that is real—can be ours through this understanding.

Prashanti de Jager
Tejas FestThe Tejas Fest class is a rewarding readily accessible combination of Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotisha, Mantra, Puja, and Gyana Yoga. In this class you will first learn how to analyze the specific unique medicinal quality of all forms of Yoga, with a special emphasis on Bhakti Yoga, and also the medicinal quality of all forms of practice, with a specific focus on chanting and singing. Once we know these qualities we can decide which are functional for us and which tend to be dysfunctional, and having done that, learn how to optimize your practice by amplifying its functional effects on you and attenuating the dysfunctional aspects. This will segue us into the main course of this empowering feast: awakening the profound balancing of Bhakti Yoga by learning how to fire up Tejas, the coalescing of our deep and brilliant light of awareness into a coherent cogent focused stream. The fact that Tejas is the metric used to measure the greatness of Yogis is a pretty good clue that to study and cultivate it is phenomenally important to all forms of Yoga, and especially Bhakti Yoga. The class concludes with learning epically powerful laser-like mantras that can quickly increase Tejas and practicing them together as a group.

Sanskrit Pronunciation WorkshopAfter attending this 90 minute workshop, participants will know the structure and proper pronunciation of Sanskrit using English transliteration. In addition, they will know exactly what all those dots and slashes above and below the letters mean when Sanskrit is transliterated and will feel confident about pronouncing any Sanskrit word properly. However, this workshop is not just about the mechanics of the language. We delve into the origins and esoteric side of Sanskrit to discover why Sanskrit is so powerful, why it is used for mantras and kirtan, how the language connects all of us to the universe at large - the macrocosm contained within the microcosm.

Tantra. Love & SexualityDuring this workshop for singles and couples, we'll explore the mystical realm of Tantra as it applies to love, relationship and intimacy; bringing us into direct contact with the mysterious, yet human, experience of authentic sexuality.
Tantra is an ancient path of meditation that springs from love. The meditations and practices were born, legend has it, out of a conversation between two lovers, Shiva and Devi, some 5,000 years ago. Entwined in a lover's embrace, the two were discussing the mysteries of the universe. Awestruck by her beauty, Shiva composed 112 Sutras to describe his love; the very flowering of existence, as Devi herself.
The Sutras invite us to explore what emerges when we relax and surrender with another, slipping over the edge of fear into ecstasy. When we learn to deeply listen to the wisdom of our body, there can be a total transformation from repressed or blocked energy to free flowing authenticity and deep love in the realm of intimate connection.

Using sound, breath, and movement we will learn to hear and feel our own unique inner frequencies and rhythms. Through this practice of Nada Yoga, we are able to tune into our subtle bodies and deepen our attention, awareness, and consciousness of our subtle sound, thereby creating a more harmonious balanced state of being. When we are in tune, we become open channels to the universal vibration that is the fabric of all existence.

Zach Leary (Ramana)
Daily Hanuman Chalisa RecitationZach Leary (Ramana) is a practitioner of Bhakti yoga as taught by his Guru Neem Karoli Baba. Through the practice of kirtan he has found keys that unlock doorways that allow the soul to experience it's true nature of being eternal, full of knowledge and full of bliss. In addition to Bhakti yoga, Zach has been influenced by many different methods and traditions ranging from trans-humanism, hatha yoga, Buddhism and psychology. But above all he believes first and foremost in his Guru's teaching that "love is the strongest medicine."
The Hanuman Chalisa is a 40 verse Hindu prayer that sings the praises and glories of Hanuman who is the essence of love and devotion to God in the form of Ram. In this workshop, Zach will lead the group in the practice of singing this prayer while maintaining focus on service and devotion. Zach will also talk a little about what the Hanuman Chalisa means to him, the practice of Guru Kripa, and Bhakti.
Hand-outs with the transliteration of the words will be provided.
